You mean, your DMV or something? I think because they work extended hrs during the other days?

What strange days for a business area to close....is that just an English thing?
When I was a girl ( the days before shopping malls etc) I remember most shopping centres being closed on a saturday so workers could have the weekend off. One seaside shopping centre near to my home used to open all day saturday but closed on mondays. It was the place to go on a saturday & a great place to meet your friends etc.

the bmv is open on mondays, but for a couple hours..."local" one tends to close at lunchtime...

it's cheeky really because a lot of places are also closed on sundays and during lunch hour...well a couple banks in town are, and the post office only has one desk open in the most busy time of the day *l*

One of the main museums in New York is closed on Mondays and one closes on Tuesdays. The tourists cannot understand and even those of us who live here forget which closes when! I don't get it.

How big is your village Bob?

I remember driving down the coast in S.A. years ago, stopping for gas, and telling dh I was going to run to the bank (whose sign I saw in the distance), only to find a note on the door that read, 'Open Tuesdays between 10 and 11 a.m.'... lol
