Hi:
We just got married on Friday and are 99% ready to send our AOS package to
INS. We do have a few questions about assembling the package.
We have punched holes in the tops of all the paperwork, per the INS website,
but we are wondering,
1. Should all the forms be attached with one clip, or should each
individual form (for example I-485, I-130, etc.) be held together with
separate clips?
2. Should the documentation such as birth certificates, divorce decree,
etc. be placed with the individual forms, or should all of this
documentation be clipped together separately and placed behind the forms in
our packet?
3. Are we worrying too much about assembling this packet? :-)
Off subject side note....we consulted an immigration attorney here in
Huntsville and we were advised that it was just fine for us to get married
as Philip had never entered the country intending to commit fraud. We were
married in Chattanooga, Tennessee and the ladies working in the marriage
liscense office were very friendly and knowlegeable. There was no problem
with Philip's (unexpired) I-94 and he was here under the Visa Waiver
Program. We got 4 certified copies of the marriage certificate on the spot
and the whole process from application through marriage took about 30
minutes.
Thanks for any help with the above questions.
