Default One of NYC's Peregrine Families

This couple were featured in today's Daily Newspaper. Jubilee has four new chicks this Spring.

From only two nests in 1983, there are now 15 nests in New York City.

There is a live webcam of the new chicks.

Thanks for that Rete.

A few years ago the owners of a building in NYC erected some sort of guard to prevent them nesting at the front of the building. I seem to remember some residents had complained about the droppings. There was outrage about it from the locals...it was on the local news for months. The owners took the guard down and the falcons began nesting again and produced chicks.

Believe that was the upper east side and the culprit was an anchorwoman for one of the networks. Now I will have to research to find it.

Yes, that happened when we were living in NYC. Anchor woman, sounds right, something todo with TV.

I worked in a restaurant in Carnegie Hill here in NYC which is a very wealthy area a few years ago. PZ lives there. We were known for our lemon coconut cake . It was pretty amazing and 5 layers high. We would keep one under glass at the end of the bar. PZ decided to lift up the glass and swiped her fingers along the cake. I told her that now we couldn't serve it and she just laughed at me. She wasn't laughing when they put $75 charge on her dinner bill which is what we charged if you wanted to order the whole cake. She tried to dispute it with the manager and he told her that she had to pay and if she refused she was no longer welcome in the restaurant. She paid for the cake.
