Ok guys and dolls
I am new to this forum so bear with me please
Just got the letter from the local office confirming the adjustment in status to conditional permanent residence and another letter saying it will be MONTHS before I get my green card.
Is it really months before you get the card or are the guys just covering their arse's
I have an online application for an employment EAD outstanding with no respoinse apart from official receipt dated 29th June as I have a job offered but they wont start me until I am "legal" but with the delays I am in danger of losing the job as its been 6 months since i applied.
Would be grateful for an indication of recent time frame for issuance of grren card from approval date
Thanks Roger

I got mine a month after the AOS interview. I have recently read reports of the card being received from anywhere between ten days to three weeks.

I had my interview on July 22nd and had my GC in my hands on August 12th. I think i was told not to expect it until 6-12 month so i guess they are just giving worst case scenario!

Why not just make an Infopass appointment and get the I-551 stamp in your passport. No need for EAD then.

I put an application for an EAD back in Dec of last year and was refused because I used the wrong code.
I then put in an online EAD application in March but have heard nothing so you might have the best idea here I think. So far $385 and nothing back for my money!!!
Thanks again

I applied for my AOS at the end of June 2003 and my interviewis scheduled for November 16th this year. If you applied for your EAD more than 90 days ago you can go to an immigration office and get an interim one. Call the immigration help line and find out which office near you does thiat and on what day.
Even with a passport stamp you still have to apply for an EAD as that is one condition of getting it and it is only valid for 90 days (I think)

Your I-551 is your Green Card, until the actual card arrives.

Take that letter, your passport to your district office and they'll give you an I-551 temporary green card stamp in your passport.
easy peasy lemon squeezy.
