Sorry, but thats a little too far north to be 'close' to me down in Cobb County which in theory is actually north of Atlanta but still part of the Metro area

Hi, I'm new to the forum and in the metro area in Roswell with my husband, we literally moved into our new house last week from a rental place. Lovin GA so far!!! Don't think Canton is too far from me but now off to check on Google maps!

Hi Madelina, we have been here since September and have done so much in that time! Our green cards took 13 years ( we went the hubby has a sister in the US route!!) altogether, 10 years for the case to come up then almost 3 years to get through immigration and sell up! I was made redundant last March but wasn't worried as I got a big pay off and we knew we'd be coming sometime last year. Hubby resigned his job and we took a gamble which has so far paid off. We both work in IT and managed to get great jobs, we were renting a place but have just gone through getting a mortgage with no credit history here! We were successful in the end, it took 3 months, and we moved into our new place Saturday just gone! My sister has been in Roswell 11 years but she has just moved to NC - typical! So like you we are looking for friends, British or American!

We love the US and have visited loads of times as well as coming out here in the past on the odd stint with work.

How about you? How long have you been here?
