Morris County?
It's an inside joke... the Turnpike has historically been such an important part of NJ life that when someone announces that they're from NJ, it's humorous to ask "what exit?"

for the bangers...

Kearny - Rt 280 or 1/9 can't remember the exit (Harrison I think - real Sopranos country - they shoot parts of it there). They had a bunch of scottish butchers there and they had bangers. Only got them once and they were pretty good. The pies are a different matter! Other highlights in Kearny I recall are:

The House of Appetisers - it was a pub...
Pizzatown - its in the opening credits to Sopranos.

Also there is an aussie company in brooklyn that does pies and snags which are pretty good as well - they will ship to you.

Goat
Oz -> Kearny -> London
Soon to be back in the US of A Rt 78 Exit 43.

So much for what I thought I knew - I always thought it was the Parkway, not the Turnpike.

The Garden State Parkway follows the Atlantic coast; the Turnpike is inland.

That I know. I just thought when asked what exit, it referred to the Parkway. Guess it could have been either really, never really thought about it.

Actually, this whole exit thing is a common joke for most of the Tri-State area and, for locals, includes more than just the Parkway and the Turnpike in NJ, so Neil, you're not incorrect.

Thank god for that - I was having real issues working out whether to use exit 9 or 10 if it was the Turnpike. I can sleep easy tonight.
