For those of you who don't know, it's a phenomenon whereby the length of time you have to wait for a netflix dvd increases the longer you've been a customer, and then some other factors.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

I've been using Netflix for about 2 years, and class as a heavy user (multiple returns a week), so I get throttled ...
I still get my $17.99 (3 out plan) worth!
Having used both, Netflix has the best selection, for me the best turn around time (your milage may vary, you'll have to try them both), their customer service rocked when I've had to use it, I've never had an unplayable DVD they haven't replaced site unseen ...
sure, I don't get coupons, big whoopee
I wanted DVDs by mail to *stop* going to the store!
My thumbs go up to Netflix

I've been using Blockbuster for a couple of months now.
I really didn't want to go with the bigger multinational but it looked like they had a better selection of music videos. I was really pissed off when I found out that once you are a member and log in you find out that not all of these dvds are available for rental but some are just there for purchase. We have also had a number of broken DVDs and the order they send them can be a bit scatty.
We have been fairly happy otherwise. Turnover is fairly quick and the instore vouchers are handy. I feel like switching to Netflix though for the more obscure films that Blockbuster is so good at taking off its shelves.

Had blockbuster for many months, now have no service since we didnt feel we used that kind of service enough for it to be worth the money. Was a good service but for a few complaints i had:
There were some long wait dvds, which the time on, never seemed to change.
Got a dvd at one point that didnt work and was borked. To their credit they did send a replacement, but only after we sent that dvd back.
Had some friends who had netflix, they werent overly impressed with the service.

Every one I know who has Netflix tells me things like "Yeah, I have 350 titles in my Que"
What is the point, if you watched an average of 3 DVD's a week it would take you 7 years to get the 350th DVD. This assumes no new DVD's come out in that seven years that you would want to put at the top of your Que!
I try to keep my que below 30, this guarentees that they are movies I want to see and soon. Here are the Top Films from 7 years ago, you should be receiving them any day now!!!!
The Matrix (1999)
Fight Club (1999)
American Beauty (1999)
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
The Green Mile (1999)
Being John Malkovich (1999)
Toy Story 2(1999)
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)
American Pie (1999)
The Runaway Bride (1999)
