Hello,
Me, my wife & my daughter are looking at moving to Orlando in the near future, We have been here around 10 times and love the place. I am 25 & my wife is 26, my daughter is 2 years old.
I am not sure where to start in regards to moving to Orlando, What are my first steps? Do I look at properties first to see what I could buy? We would be selling our house in the UK.
If anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.

This is your starting point, please read very carefully and decide just what visa you are able to get, which for most people will be 'non' and you might just have to settle for holiday visits.

Trips to Disney?
My advice would be to make a list of all the doctors appointments you've taken this year and add up the cost if you were to pay for them as you have to do in America. Look at your current holiday package from your employer and then divide it in half - that's what you'll get when you move here. If you're lucky. If your wife plans to work and you plan to have another child at some point, have a think about whether living in Florida is really worth having to go back to work after 6-12 weeks of maternity leave. Florida is an at-will state which means your employer can tell you to leave at any time - no notice or severance pay required.
And as someone else said... if you don't have a family member who can sponsor you or skills that an employer would want to bring you over for, then you're SOL anyway.

Oh the glassy eyes of a visiting tourist.
Honestly mate, your better off visiting unless you are married to an American.
Please spread out though, there is more to America than Orlando.
Personally I avoid the place, it has most things that I dislike about America.

Without an employer willing to transfer you, a close family member who is a USC, desirable technical or scientific skills, or a lot of money to invest (think minimum $200k for the business, plus $200k for housing and start-up expenses until the business can support you), then living in the US isn't going to be possible for you.
Sorry.

The first step is to determine what visa you'd qualify for, according to the link posted above. When you've determined that, then come back here for discussion.

America is a wonderful country if we can only persuade the average British visitor to branch out a little from the land of the mouse.

I wonder if anyone wants to move to Derby after going to Alton Towers?

Poor Perry......hate to see when the bubble gets burst. I'd like to think all of the US is like a big holiday as well, but sadly it's not....
If you do come again, try and broaden your horizons from Orlando. There are a lot of things to see here. We just got back from driving up the 101 (Southern California to Seattle) there was a lot of very pretty scenery.
