Moving Canada-USA
What's the best (cheapest) suggestion to move my stuff from Canada to Texas?
I have a small car (pretty old) that I'd rather sell before leaving. I
looked to rent a U-Haul truck (one way) and it's pretty expensive. I don't
really have many big items (no furniture).
Thanks in advance!

Check out shipping costs
I boxed my things and took it all down to the local MailBox Etc. Store and had it shipped. In total I had over 500lbs, costing approx. $600 and had it all delivered to my door within 3 days of my arrival in the States.
I bought my boxes from U-Haul as they were cheaper then getting them from MailBox Etc. I also went to Staples and was able to purchase huge bags of "styrofoam popcorn" for $5 a bag.
An added note on your car: You would have to "immigrate" it to the States and being an older car you may not be able too. I sold mine before I left as it didn't pass to cross the border.

You may want to look into Greyhound and Amtrak. They have freight service
that is very reasonably priced, at least within the US. Greyhound even
offers a 50% (!!!) discount for students.

Sell it all but personal belongings, clothes etc, ship that stuff, fed ex
ups, replace anything from yard sales moving sales etc, that's the cheapest
route.
