Default Movers

I am currently organising movers. I need to submit 3 quotes, so I was thinking of contacting 5 or 6 companies, then choosing the best 3 regardless of price and submitting those.

So far, I have contacted Allied Pickfords, Sterling International Movers, First Move International and Excess International Movers. Any horror stories about any of these? Anyone else you'd like to recommend? Sterling and First Move seem very on the ball when speaking to them, but you should never judge a book by its sales assistant...

I hadn't intended to organise this yet, but it's looking like we'll be chucked out of our flat earlier than expected so I'll have to get my finger out and organise everything now. At least I do have actual dates of going to the US now, so that makes things a bit simpler.

there are so many posts about movers JUST DO A SEARCH on this site
and to try to be the tiniest bit helpful - sales assistant says one thing movers do another (had 3 international moves with so called professionals!) and it varies town to town, I had allied pickfords (who took 4 days to pack!) they seemed good but can't speak for them in any other part of the country, as it so does depend on their people.
