How about an intro section or sticky thread?

I think an intro section would be a great idea Not only to introduce yourself as a newbie, but it would be nice if all members gave an intro as even tho some have been here years, they are newbies to the newbies!

Okay...... so that might take some of the fun out of it for the
long time members

But still nice for us to know a bit about you too before we all spill our guts

I was excited to be a newbie and no-one said a bloody thing. Expected me to know about karma and the like and act like I'd been here forever! I suppose I just have an unremarkable face.
