Default The "Montego" is back!

Just found out that Mercury is selling a car called the "Montego". How many of you remember the version made by British Leyland (when they weren't on strike)? We had a "Maestro", and it was the most amazing rust magnet ever! The scary thing is that the Mercury model looks like the BL one a little.....ooh, er...

We had a Maestro vanden plas ... damn that woman in the engine just wouldnt shut up !! will never have a car that talks to me again. My dad worked for BL (in its various guises) for over 30 years so I wont complain too much about them.

My first car was an Austin Maxi. It used to gobble fuel and the BMC gearbox was a nightmare. I also had a Montego MG which did sterling service. The re-sale value was poor, I am sorry to say.

We are in the market for a new car, but with a name like that it's a no go.

My Mum and Dad have always driven Volvos, but once they bought a Maestro. They kept it for precisely one month before getting rid of it and buying another Volvo! My Dad still refers to it as that "matchbox on wheels".
