I would recommend Transferwise. Set up by ex-Skype founder, its Peer to Peer based like CurrencyFair. I find the process simple and get near to market rate with very low fees. Takes a few days unlike say HSBC premier Global View or XE but much better value. Max transfer is probably 10k per day approx.

Unfortunately we cannot facilitate transfers for clients yet that do not have a registered address outside of the States because of the regulations the US bought in a couple of years ago. Other than that, we deliver Dollars to the US on a daily basis for a large number of clients that have a registered address outside of the US and have been doing so for nearly ten years
Is this bullshit artist still peddling his useless services? I thought we dealt with that already.

AND it appears to be taking longer. A specialist remitter should have the funds in your account in 48 hours or less. Also the funds should be (on request) delivered as an ACH credit, thereby avoiding the wire receipt fee that most banks charge.

"Will be" or "is"..

oh well, long time since I've commented on this as a lone voice in the Anti-exchange company wilderness, but it's a wet Sunday morning, so here goes.......

I think it maybe depends on the amount being transferred, and where that lies in the rate bands with the different providers. Over the years I've had accounts set up with xe.com and hifx and another, can't remember which, but I couldn't comment on how efficient they are as whenever I have made a transfer, none of them have been able to match first direct. Once one of them did indicate a better rate, but withdrew it when I tried to hit it. That account was cancelled the same day. I suspect the same may have happened to the poster who commented a while back on an indicative rate from one of the companies that was almost 2.5cents higher than the days high.

I've never had a charge from FD, I occasionally get a charge from my receiving bank (Wells Fargo) who invariably have refunded it on asking. Transfer isn't instant, but is pretty darn close, normally within 20-30 minutes.

If you have already have a FD checking account, it is a simple call to their regular telephone banking to check the rates. None of this setting up a new account with all the identity checking palaver, and no 10k restrictions that others have mentioned.

If our services are deemed useless by you Speedwell then that is your own opinion...I'm a believer that everyone's entitle to one, but a bullshit artist...really???

I've been in the FX industry for quite a few years now and the company has been saving clients all across the globe thousands of pounds a day for a decade now....not too sure how you've come to this conclusion?? Please explain!
