Hope you find some goodies... Think I need to buy some bacon, haven't had decent bacon in 18 months. The tea cakes sound good too, last trip to england I cleared the local ASDA store out of warburtons tea cakes and crumpets the day before I left then froze them as soon as I got home.
Mmmm now if I could get the warburtons bread to go with the bacon

At the last count we had 5 braches of Meijers in the Lansing area, and for a while the one nearest us was the only one with a world food aisle. But I think they all do now. I'm also lucky enough to have a World Market less than 5 minutes drive away, but it would still be nice to be able to get some real bacon and some proper sausages.

BTW, have any other Michigan based Brits been to the British Pantry in Tecumseh? Is it any good?

not been to the one in Tecumseh, but there is a store in Milford where you can buy a plethora of British stuff provided you have a second mortgage and sold your first born into slavery.

I have not been there either. I have not, until my recent discovery, found any store that sold meat, bread or dairy items, up till now it has been in a can or a packet.

I hadn't noticed your name before - I get here so rarely I had to join afresh, just to get in - I am trying to be good and check threads. Anyway my son uses the same handle elsewhere, so seeing your comment made me jump, and until I saw your age I was wondering why he didn't say something to me long ago on here. Then I looked at your profile - phew!! He is not ignoring me, you are seven years younger and a few miles north - lol. He also has your dislike of errors.

Our local Meijer's has always had a good selection of UK food in the "World Food" section. It's worthwhile haveing alook at the French and German sections as they have a lot of similar stuff too.

I made my poor mother walk the length and bredth of Worcester looking for a bar of Nougat and then found it in the French section a mere mile from me

Still would like to find a decent source of Pasties without going all the way to Greenbay

The Indian section is worth a gander too, as most of the stuff on sale is actually British made. So you might actually be able to get a half decent curry.
