No, actually, "I love you both" is better as long as the girls are into that scene ;)

Don't you mean Bramhall? The place everybody in Cheadle Hulme says there from?

I'm sure the City fan (Blue nose) sulks a lot.

This is why I always check the BBC tables often, and especially after weekends. :D

Standard banter between Englishman and Scotsman:
Englishman: "We call the Scotsmen jocks."
Me: "Don't the Scotsmen call YOU sassenach or some such?"
Scotsman: "No, we just call them wankers."

The north-south divide is fun too. There were several Killing Joke gigs ooooop north and the southern contingent were tenderfootedly asking for directions. One northerner paused, then said: "well, you start out on the M1 under the sign that says 'The North.' You drive until all you see are farms and the motorway turns into a gravelly path. You then take a left at t'pit, a right at t'mill, and you're there. If you get lost, ask someone wearing a flat cap and sensible boots. T'others walking along the side of the road are lost Southerners like yerselves."

(And here I was thinking, do they not sell maps in London, cos I've bought some at my local bookstores!!!! Ordinance, Michelin, you name it!)

Whenever I've sent post I've always written "Bramall" -- but I know that there are places that have the "aitch" in there. There is a Bram(h)all family in the Stockport-area family tree I'm forever working on, and even they couldn't decide on whether or not to leave the "h" in or drop it. And of course there's the tongue-twisting "Bramall Hall." ;)

The City fan can well hold her own ;) and the night we visited, we were going to the City match next day and would choose City over Utd any time. So the Utd fan was outnumbered 3:1 and if he'd tried anything we'd've prevailed! Of course, I am told "real" Mancunians are for City, that Utd ought to move closer to London and their fanbase :P
