I just can't relate sex with Thatcher, what the F Dennis saw in her I'll never know, but I guess he was always too pissed to notice.

I refuse to think about this entire concept.

I could never understand the poorer people voting for her.
Those with the Sun in their jeans pocket and dreams of being wealthier because their taxes would be lower.
A reduction of 2p when you earn 10 grand a year isnt much, a reduction of 2p when you earn 2 million is.
I was raised working class, i will die working class. I will never vote republican or tory. unfortunately, even if i still lived in Britain i doubt i would be voting labour either.

I detested Ted Heath as a kid, grew to like his attitude as an adult. Maggie pales by comparison, always arrogant.
Can never say i vote with my head, the heart rules.

For the monetary cost of the Faulklands adventure, everyone could have been resettled in the UK and given £250,000 as start up money.

There was an incident when a British shipyard won the contract for two USN frigates. The congressmen for an area that included a shipyard, got a law passed that no war materiel could be bought from a foreign country because spares would not be available in the time of war, and the contract was voided. Maggie cancelled a contract for 100+ F111s.

On balance, she should have stayed home and raised her family properly, assuming she was able.

Never understood the fuss about the belgrano, it was an enemy ship and as such was a legitimate target.

So those who are anti Thatcher, do you think Blair and his Government have made life much better for UK? I haven't known so many people who want to get out of UK. I don't know all her politics but I know it was easier for businesses then and her government did encourage people to buy their own houses and be more independent. I actually like the American way of being able to be sacked, because nothing is worse than not being able to get rid of staff that are a waste of work space. The standards were certainly higher under her rule than they are now in the UK. I never heard of any soldier that she sent to war being allowed to get sued or punished for trying to do their job. I personally would rather her or someone with balls like her be in power, than the current British government. Since the Falklands was mentioned it would be interesting of how future generations rate the war in Iraq that Tony has sent us to and how many innocent deaths have/will have been attributed because of it.
