And yes I really am a programmer... know anyone who's hiring in the immediate area? Bizarrely and rather ironically, I was offered a 6-month contract down in Alabama, via an agency, for the company that just made me redundant.

What would you consider the immediate area, also what is your skill set & experience level?
My company is hiring, but we are a games company and because of that the type of programming is fairly specific and almost always against the grain of corporate style programming.

I'm not really a gamer per-se. I loved SSX for the PS2 and I'm currently addicted to World of Warcraft, so I might be checking out the new MMORPGs when they come out.
