Default Legal question.

Can anyone put me straight on this. Has an ex-wife got any claim on your estate after you have remarried? I know they may try to claim and may be successful if you have not married.

I dont know but if a divorce is fully settled and you have all your wills and beneficiaries up to date then you should be okay.

Sorry, don't know...but surely your present marital status would make no difference as to whether an ex can still make a claim.

It was Absolute in 1978. New Wills etc are all in order.

Do not know for sure, that is the reason for asking.

might depend on what state you live in as well, as I'm sure that might add another flavour to the international mix...

Assuming you are talking under English/Welsh law you ex may claim. However if you have a current Will excluding her then you should be ok. The problems only usually start when you are intestate.

Yes, English/Welsh Law. As I have pointed out I have a Will here in SC, USA.
Thanks for that. She is not even thought about on that score.
