Don't know of any way that an employer can legitimately see that you have a GC within a year. If I have read posts about work related green cards, you might well be looking at several years before you have one.

May be promise to petition for a GC as opposed to a GC in 1 year...unless of course we are talking about EB1 top class.

During the 1984 Olympics, the local PBS station [KCET] would sign off with a variation of this video. If the Dodgers should win at Dodger Stadium, this is played over the PA system. [At Yankee Stadium, Frank Sinatra is played, even if was from Hoboken].
Pico and Sepulveda is not too far away. [I used to listen to "Dr. Demento" on the former KMET a long time ago.]
I don't think that Elizabeth Taylor's advice on how to succeed in Los Angeles ["Take Fountain"] applies in this case.
