hi everyone i got my k1visa in london on the 23 may and i arrived in kentucky on sunday, the imigration officer at philidelphia would not give me an EAD said i need to go to my local office, my question is can i work with a social security number or do i have to wait until adjustment of status can anyone help please?

You can work without an EAD, but first you have to file the for I765 (Application for Employment Authorization) and pay the required fee.
Then when you recieve the 'notice of action' from the INS, take that, your SSN, Drivers Licence and passport to your local office.
Arrive early as it is a first come first serve basis and could be some hours before you are attended to.
They will give you a temporary work permit which you can present to future employers pending the EAD being issued.
Currently the EAD are about 180 days from recieving form I765.
