J1 Visa Waivers
Hey
I have a couple of questions i'm hoping some of you may be able to help me with.
I'm working in the US on a J1 Student visa which is valid until January 2009. The visa has a 2 year home residency agreement attached to it (to the UK), which i DESPERATELY want to get out of.
Does anyone know how to go about getting the condition waived?
Has anyone successfully gone through this process?
Does anyone know of any good immigration lawyers in DC??
I would really really appreciate any help / advice your able to offer,
Thank you so much
Jocy

Re: J1 Visa Waivers
There's a visa section for these questions...
And it'll probably be easier and cheaper to just head home than deal with the waiver...
www.ailalawyer.com to find a referral for an immigration lawyer, but ask if they are experienced with J1 waivers.

Re: J1 Visa Waivers
Thank you!
Yeah, i realize that it seems like an easier option to head home for 2 years.
I don't really care how much it would cost, as long as the HRR got waived!
My fiance is a USC hence the strong need to stay in the us!
(that and the fact the the UK sucks!)
Thank you though,
I didn't realize there was an immigration forum! (woops!)
