You believe wrong ! ...... I have seen more poverty on my travels than back home. Everwhere new seems nice when you are on holiday, HELL ! I even wanted to more to Feurtavetura once. I used to come here on holiday and always wanted to live here. Now I do I see that life here is no walkover. Kate (my darling wife) say's she would like to live in the UK but she would change her mind soon after moving there, she too has only ever seen the place when she is on holiday. ..... It's damm hard work here just to keep going unless you happen to fall into the dream situation.
As for marrying an American to get here, that is totally unethical. I married Kate because I love her, although my family thought otherwise at first. Withing 3 months of living here I wanted to go home ..... What kept me here ? .... My Love for Kate.

It would be very wrong to use someone for such a purpose.

It is much a quantity vs a quality.

If on the one hand all you live for is a big house with a pool and a large car, you've come to the right place.

On the other hand if you have different values and like to travel (something you won't be doing much of if you move to the US), or having deep friendships (something you won't have unless you're very very lucky), the kind you're used to and not just a bunch of acquaintances even after many years here, then the US is not for you.

If I was a youngster, I'd definitely try it out for a couple of years, as a life experience though.

I go along with the friendship bit TT. I have been here for 6 years and my best friend is the Pakistani who owns the corner store...... He was raised in London

Actually this is not entirely correct

L-1a senior

L-1b specialised knowledge (in the company or area of business)

my company did not allow for me to get an l-1a - too small, but l-1b was noit a prob

a secratary is eligible for l-1b is they can prove specialised knowledge about company policy and procedures etc

some parts of the usa are horrible - the deep south (Missishiti, Louisiana) is just as bad if not worse than many third world countries

Same here, as for most of us married to Americans, we love them not so much there country, so in my case it's all for the love of a good Man, and we will be going home next year

Can ANYONE advise me where to start..????

Thanyou in advance.....
You just graduated! You missed your best chance son, you should have found the forign students society and found yourself an American chick who digs your accent, marry her and then over you come, bit of paperwork to fill out, an interview and your free to get over here. Biggest plus, if you find out you hate her after a while you only have to be married a few years until you get your green card and then your free to dump her and enjoy being single in the US where there will be millions of chick who dig you accent.
Missed the boat of students this year, go back and do a Masters, chances of getting a better job and time to meet the green card ticket!
Good luck son!

yeah, stated the difference between A and B earlier, still have to be senior, or have specialist skills, neither of which will apply to someone fresh out of uni with no experience that hasn't worked at a place for more than a year.

I have to say I very much agree with this statment. It has never ceased to amaze me how few people have 'good friends' over here nor can I figure out why this is the case.
