Re: How to speak Essex...........
Ha ha....
..... we moved to a village in the Epping Forest area (just to the North East of London) when our daughter was three years old and she rapidly acquired the local accent - many villagers had moved out from East London and had grown up in Shoreditch/Mile End and other various parts of Hackney or Walthamstow. Our daughter's accent was horrible! We still laugh when we watch our old videos and hear her chatting away in her Essex accent.
Oddly enough when we went to Singapore she acquired an American accent at her international school, despite the school having over 50 nationalities.
She now speaks without an accent, a kind of 'received pronounciation' similar to the BBC presenters, but I'll never forget that Essex accent she once had...
(Congrats on the GC)

Re: How to speak Essex...........
Congrats on the Green Card Sue.
They were funny, thanks. I had a niece move to Florida from Southend, she has a young daughter. They have been there 2 years, and her daughter doesn't have a hint of Essex or even Brit left in her. Shame innit? Hope my kids don't loose it! I know I won't I am to past it I think LOL
