"Peak Oil!" is the regular cry here at work. Some of the guys here have been scouring t'internet for articles about how oil prices are starting to rocket because demand has stretched supply as far as it will go, and oil production will peak this year. After that, production falls back, because the oil we've extracted so far is all the easy-to-get-to stuff. It's pretty convincing and scary stuff; the guys are planning to head to Montana when the shti hits the fan, and live off the land. I'm not so sure about that bit. I'd hope that increased costs will curb consumption and force heavy investments in alternative fuel sources.

Peak oil!

$2.35 here yesterday which surprised me considering I only payed $2.22 just last week. Probably means that by the time we pass through Wickenburg on the way to Vegas in a couple of weeks, that it will be upwards of $2.60, because they always seem to be a lot more expensive out in the sticks. We'll be filling up a gas guzzling SUV too.

My husband paid $2.35 in Bucks Co. PA on Sunday. When we got back into Mercer Co. NJ (half an hour after filling up in PA) it was only $2.06 a gallon

I don't buy that

The statistical agency said that despite soaring costs at the pump, motorists are not easing off the roads. It projected demand for gasoline this summer at 9.3 million barrels a day, a 1.8 percent increase over last year
the price of gas has gone up a lot more than 1.8 percent.

I guess I'm not doing too badly here. This afternoon in town it was $1.99 Reg, $2.19 Premium and $2.39 diesel.

Gone up 30 cents in just over a month.

That depends, mine will knock on anything less, and with worse full consumption it would cots me more directly as well as indirectly.

The wife's truck, absolutely.

Just changed my oil after 3,000 miles, still feel I have been suckered in, but it was only something like 20 quid.
