my commute is just over 15 mins in each direction.
If they replaced a few of the numerous stop lights on the route with roundabouts it would be considerably less.

Well I worked from home for 7 years, and now I don't work. I think I drive more now than I did when I was working, on a daily average.

In Wellington where we're planning to live, we'll be about 10 mins away by public transport (bus). Yay! No way am I going to drive in and pay for parking.

It's rubbish, 90 just stops for no reason and if there is an accident, forget about it. I'm kind of stuck because I work at Euclid and E14th so I either take 90 and all the crap that comes with it or take the shoreway which takes ages for me to get to and can be just as backed up. Now with the road being torn up it really sucks. Then I have to get into downtown. If it's snowing I mostly don't even bother going in, it can take over 3 hours to get in during snow. It sucks when it snows once you are already in. The annoying thing is I can do door to door in 20-25 minutes if I haul it and it's after 7pm. That is if I don't encounter a cop along the way.

I liked working in Elyria so much better, it was the easiest drive I've had!

Are you an astronaut working on the space station, or do you have to take the 405 to work?

30 miles - from 40 min to 1 1/2 hours....$40 every 2 weeks in tolls and $50 a week in gas.

It took me 3 weeks to discover that gem. Sepulveda or Sawtelle, both are good shortcuts for me.
I dont go as far as the 101. I live near the 405 and 10 and commute from the long beach area.
I always leave the 405 at the 90 and take Sepulveda or Sawtelle all the way home.

I Walk to work (2 minutes walk). I moved into the apartment complex close to work so i could get out of bed and shower at 8:30am and be working by 9am!.

Why would anyone want to travel 2 hours a day amazes me. I'd need to be earning $150k+ to even consider a long commute.

Most days it 's like this:
0400: up
0430: out
0530: Arrive at my Dad's, I ride with him the rest of the way in (30 miles)as we work in the same place. 55 miles from home to my Dad's. Saves 60 miles a day in gas and wear and tear, nice.
0600-0615: Arrive at work

If Dad's off for some reason I drive all the way. It takes less time that way without the stopping and switching of vehicles but that 30 miles closest to work is the big traffic, suburban highway sprawl BS that takes it right outta ya energy wise.

I love where I live. I wouldn't be very happy living close to where I currently work and there's not many jobs where I live. And really look what kind of travel times people have listed here. People who are in teh car nearly as long as I am, but live only 30 miles from work!
