My own personal rule is that people who use the word classy to describe anything they like are anything but...this is following an excruciating apartment search with a colleague who I think was the inspiration for the word chav, who called an entire wall of mirrored wardrobes with brass framing classy. And because I'm northern so the word is pronounced class-eh which just sounds so tacky. Sorry for offending anyone here!

Class is hard to define but one recognises it when one sees it. We don't necessarily agree though.

Ted Koppel has class, Bill O'Reilly doesn't.

There are people who would disagree with both ends of that statement.

It shouldn't matter where you are in politics - class is class.
though I wouldn't necessarily would have said class was the 1st word that would come to mind with either of them.
