How do you find out what the best school district is in New Jersey? Is there a national database on the web?

I have done a goggle search and all the sites allow you to compare individual schools. I want to compare districts or see a ranking.

Also what does blue ribbon school mean?

I would also suggest checking out the WIKI on Enrolling kids in school for more info on how schools work in the US.

Hi,

If you Google "New Jersey Monthly School Rankings" you will come up with a list published each year by NJ Monthly Magazine. The towns that come up on top, not surprisingly, are very expensive places to live, both in terms of the cost of homes and the cost of property taxes.

Hi,
With regard to Blue Ribbon Schools, here is a link from the NJ Department of Education that explains it, plus you can search for schools that have met this standard.

Rather than re-type all of this info, click on this recent link and see post #4....it contains links to the "US News & World Report" article and rankings of the very best public schools in the US, including those in New Jersey.

I would just ask a real estate agent, preferably a good one (don't ask me how you find one though)...
