An E2 doesn't give you any preference. Whether you can have a face-to-face meeting with a lawyer is largely irrelevant in the 21st century. In some sense an E2 can be the worst thing: you're no longer outside the candy store looking in, you're allowed inside the store, but you can't touch the candy. ("Candy" = GC)

Lawyers are not miracle workers, and cannot materialize a green card out of an E-2 visa.

I think you are thinking of an H or L visa scenario. Very different from E-2.

That's hardly a reason for not trying if you really want to live here.

Don't let the VISA expire and take a back seat and keep an interest in the business by employing a manager.

The E-2 investment can't be passive -- someone was recently refused renewal in London because they were older and seen as not being sufficiently involved in the business.
