DH was raised on Heinz beans and I introduced him to Bush's beans about five years ago. He much prefers the Bush's beans, as do I.

I've very rarely seen baked beans served cold in the US. Usually they are hot, probably via crockpot if it's a potluck get together. I've never eaten them cold but I have eaten them room temperature when I've brought a small can for lunch and can't be bothered to heat it up. Not in winter, though. In winter baked beans should be hot.

The sauce in Heinz beans reminds me of the tomato sauce from Chef Boyardee canned pseudo-pasta. Chef Boyardee sauce is not a natural or pleasant taste.

Never been all that bothered by heinz beans, I used to generally get Tesco value beans since they did the job, while other more expensive ones and other own-brand weren't all that nice.

Now I eat pork and beans - they are pretty much just the same as the Tesco beans with the occasional lump of pork fat thrown in (I guess I was foolish to expect some actual pork in there!) and cost less than regular beans. I'm not a big fan of normal American beans, with all that brown sugar and even maple syrup added. Far too sweet.

sounding like bubba-gump baked beans....
baked beans-kabobs, baked beans creole, baked beans gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple baked beans, lemon baked beans, coconut baked beans, pepper baked beans,......., baked beans burger, baked bean sandwich. That- that's about it...

BB with butter. HBB and sausage rolls. HBB with a bit of L&P's W'shire sauce.
I'm not a fan of BB with a fry up tho.

That is a matter of opinion LOL

I used to work with a girl who would eat spagetti hoops, cold out of the can, each to their own I guess.

I thought it was a Maine thing, the cold bean sarnie....but beans, do like the Bush grillin' beans, but B&M beans are the best US beans, but I think possibly because they're every where in Maine and the bbq beans are great, the maple ain't to bad either even if a tad sweet. The factory on I-295 going through Portland is weird, the whole place just smells of beans when the weather is funky...so much nicer than a paper mill town

I love that Paper Mill Town smell! I remember driving through Berlin, NH back in the 70s (used to hike in that part of Maine a lot..) and that paper mill is closed down. Near us is Cornwall, Ontario.. that had a really rank smell.. they've closed that mill down too. It's all malls and condos now.

You are mental....the smell of shit personified when it's even remotely damp outside is not even remotely pleasant
