Stupidly all winnings had to be credited to the card used in the first place so if they had won a million we might have got to it first and spent it before they could
Or we would have handed it back.
Strange someone would have the wit to skim your cc number (obviously it doesn't require that much) and yet be dumb enough not to realise its a completely pointless exercise to use it in that manner.
Never underestimate people's stupidity I suppose.

The police told me that they swipe the cards through a machine next to the main card swipe thing,so that you won't realise, and it's like a data stick that holds thousands of numbers. The garage or whoever then sell the data stick on and the buyer uses the numbers as they wish.

I only use my debit card for ATM use, everything else goes on my Amex

bought a laptop from lenovo the other day, they messed up the order. Once I had laptop safely in hand I spoke with 7 different cust serv reps and their accounts department with no full resolution. After three weeksn I had enough so I called amex yesterday and disputed. Job done.

We had a light dinner in a Georgia restaurant last month, the bill was $68.85, I virtually always give a cash tip. I tipped the waiter (More then 20%), put a line through tip on the credit card voucher, then carried the $68.85 to the total. Just received the credit card bill, charge $88.85. I called the CC company they sent me a form & suggested I call the restaurant.
Manager went off to check the receipts, "oh! did you share a table & split the bill, $68.85 each" me "No did not share, we ate alone", him "oh! another couple paid at the same time, their bill was also $68.85." The waiter was supposed to add the $20 to the other bill".
Yea, right. Next day he had credited our account.
Lots of restaurants here in Sth Florida beach area, use a nice trick. Without asking they add 18 -20% tip on the bill. They then bring you a CC voucher with the charge including their tip, the tip line is blank, tourists & those not looking then give them a tip. Voila, now the cheeky bastards, have gotten a 40% tip.
