In answer to the OP's question... I came here on my own close to a year ago, didn't know anyone at all in the area.
A year on I'm having a fantastic time, and it's probably been the best year of my adult life.
Work... Football (www.coedsportsla.com)... Evening classes... Internet Dating...
Best experiences for me were probably learning how to drive, and meeting the girl I'm dating at the moment. Moving in together within the next couple of months, so hopefully that won't be my first 'bad' experience here!
A year on I'm having a fantastic time, and it's probably been the best year of my adult life.
