Re: Halloween?
At almost 14 our dude is too cool for school these days so we will be retreating to the media room with snacks and dvd's and pretending we are not at home

Re: Halloween?
My daughter will be Kiki the witch and my son will be Darth Vader. I will be No Face from the movie Spirited Away. That reminds me, must make a few bath tokens for the costume.

Re: Halloween?
We go to a big party at a friends house, no trick or treaters too rural.
So Dd has picked our costumes this year, she has decided that she will be a ladybird and I will be her Aphid Today I scoured the thrift shop for green clothing for me, and will start on hers as soon as I get a red hoodie from Walmart.

Re: Halloween?
2 years ago i made the boys Jedi costumes. Last year one of them wanted to be a jedi again and the other wanted to be a vampire so i made a big black satin cape that was lined in red. It was a really great cape but took me a lot of effort and i actually spent a tonne on the fabric and bits and pieces to make it. more than if id have bought a damn costume.
same again during the spring - i made an astronauts suit for number ones son's school project from scratch and it added up to way more than something online.
so this year i've already copped to three costumes from walmart. We will have a Ghoul, a spiderman and a Belle (beauty and the beast). It was still probably cheaper and was definitely quicker and easier than making lol.
and now they are bought we dont have to go in any of the halloween stores again AND have no more endless debates about who to be. so im happy lol!

Re: Halloween?
'Me mum' really got into halloween, hand made costumes and decorated yards.
I put speakers on the roof playing the sound effects side of Disneys 'Chilling, thrilling sounds of the Haunted House':
I've tried others and it's the best. I also walk out on the back deck during trick or treat hours and fire up the chainsaw.

Re: Halloween?
We've had a rather flamboyant invitation to a Halloween party. I think I'll have to make an effort for this as the last time we went to one of their parties it was held in the $2 million home of her parents and it clearly cost a LOT of money. I felt a little bit out of place and that was for their daughters 2nd birthday! I don't think just putting a sheet over my head and cutting eye holes in it will do somehow. My kids (aged 7 & 9) want to go trick or treating and my neighbor has said they went through about 10 large bags of candy last year and still ran out before the trick or treaters stopped coming! Makes a change from where we lived last year when we got a grand total of 2 trick or treaters and they were my own kids!
