Green card holder and work
#1
Myself and my family became Green Card Holders over a year ago (hurrah).
I have a question about my Eldest daughter who will be 15 in October this year. She also has a green card, so I assume that she can pursue part-time jobs on the basis that she is also a green card holder.
I just wanted to check to be 100% sure.

I am not familiar with work laws for 'the young' in the US, but yes, immigrations-wise she can basically work where she wants (certain high level government security jobs etc. are still off limits for permanent residents, but I doubt a 15 yr old is looking for one of those
).

Thanks for the clarification.
So summer experience with the CIA or FBI isn't an option then

As a Permanent Resident, she is employment authorized for any job (except those few sensitive jobs that require US citizenship.. no bomb making jobs for her).

Yes she can apply for part time work with a green card but as she's still at school permission has to be given from her high school to do so beforehand.
I'm not sure if this applied during the summer holidays though. Best thing to do is ask her school what is and isn't allowed to clarify.
