Re: Government shut down
Yeah, I'm kinda in limbo with our AOS situation. I my AED & AP this week which is awesome, but I can't get SS# because of the shutdown. Which is a bummer because I have a job waiting that I do hope will continue to wait..

Re: Government shut down
Here's a link I came across which seem to report detailed information on how the shutdown is affecting immigration matters:

Re: Government shut down
Any update on this? I'm waiting for an appeal on a N-400 decision.

Re: Government shut down
News reports have suggested that a limited clean bill is likely to be passed to fund the Government through to the beginning of next year and to raise the debt ceiling. That's the larger issue at this point.

Re: Government shut down
There's always a larger issue than our personal issue.
My question stand in regards to implications on USCIS work - if anybody knows please. |

Re: Government shut down
Has anyone now figured out the actual impact? Are they simply 6 weeks behind or 12 weeks behind?
Thanks |

USCIS day to day operations themselves were barely affected by the shutdown. |
Re: Government shut down
Ah, OK, no bumping.
How do you know day to day matters were not affected? And also, since no work was done during the shutdown, there would be at least a delay of the same amount of time, right? |
Re: Government shut down
OK, so I just called the USCIS customer service line. I know most of you think it's useless my my past experience of it has been fair.
I was told my case (N-336) had been transferred and to wait 180 days (statutory timing) before inquiring. I asked where it was transferred to and the agent could not answer so she volunteered to transfer me over to level 2. For the level 2 there was a 30 min wait time so I am now waiting to speak with someone. When I ask them about my case I will also ask how the shutdown has affected their work. She/he may not be allowed to answer that, but who know... |
