From a New York Times article in Sept. '03.........

K INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT
74 TRINITY PLACE
NEW YORK, NY

Phone 212-267-6400

I believe it is about $3,000-$4,000 and takes about 3 weeks, Newark to Bremerhaven.

Sima, Waters in Jacksonville FL quoted me a little over $2,000 Jacksonville to Southampton for an F-150.

Try www.Worldwide-ship.de or www.interglobalshipping.de

Both of these advertise in the US Military newspaper here. I don't think you need to do anything regarding specs of the car. Where are you going to in Germany?? I am in Heidelberg. I ahve a list of usefull websites for US Cits living here, will see if I can find them for you.

From UK to Texas it was going to be GBP800 a couple of years ago. Plus Insurance and any additional services you want/need.

I you put it in a Container, that will be more.

You might want to get a move on, I would have needed a month to sort it out.

In the UK there 4 or 5 shippers I found fairly easily that specialised in cars, mostly in the Classic area.

The car ferries do a shuttle from Japan to West Coast, Gulf, East Coast across to UK and then Europe, up past Germany to Sweden.

I shipped my Honda Civic from Germany to CA in 1999 & it was $1200 including marine insurance, it took 6 weeks.

A lot will depend on how you want it shipped. Some companies will also deliver overland, but it would be cheaper to pick it up at Bremerhaven & depending on where in Germany you will be that is anywhere from a few hours to a whole day trip. The best option would be the train which is 6hrs from Munich & 5 from Mannheim, 4 1/2 Frankfurt.

This link has some helpful info (though not about shipping)
