The company appear to have a history of organising a rental house for when imports arrive.

But what do you sleep on until your stuff arrives, even if we weren't shipping the beds I can't imagine bed shopping on day one for same day delivery.

We should have an airfreight box as well, but I can't fit a sofa/bed/table in there......
Hi

We are doing it the opposite way round. Our furniture is leaving 5 w3eeks earlier than us so that its there when we get there. We are renting over in the UK for the 5 weeks we still need a bed etc (especially for our children). Check out websites in the UK for rental furniture if thats an option. At least then, your furniture is there when you arrive - something nice and familiar (again a priority for us with the children)

Best regards

We did that too but then our stuff was held up for nearly six weeks after we arrived because it was chosen at random for xray.

We survived with air beds, cheap sheets, plastic cutlery and plates etc.

The big stuff such as washing machines, fridges, cooker, m/wave etc were left in the house so life wasn't too difficult.
It was a very minimalist experience and made me realise how little we actually need.

make sure your rental furniture has an easy drop out clause. our colleagues signed up for 3 months and their stuff arrived after 2 weeks.

we arrived and stayed in a hotel suite (with money from our relocation pot) until we could sort out the rental (rentals done in advance all fell through).
we also got our stuff shipped quickly - but we bought a bed brand new and it was delivered the next day. so we moved in with the bed, a cheap card able and chairs, and some basics i had brought like 4 plates, tin opener etc. it was v cheap at walmart and kept us going the first couple of weeks.
