We've never slept with the heating on.....but my husband does program it to come on when he gets up for work (4am) it always wakes me up because I can sense the warmth. He programs it for when I get up as well - I hate taking a shower and getting out in a cold bathroom!

Well its set to a certain temperature....so it kicks on if it goes too low. But, we're in a pretty well insulated house with fairly decent windows (nothing like the ones we had in the UK though) so it stays pretty comfortable in here without the furnace forever coming on. But still, the gas bill for this month..... How about you? How's your gas bill in the winter months?

well just moved house so be interesting to see, but like you in well built insulated house. That's why the heating doesn't come on often in the evenings (it's on auto like yours) as it doesn't really drop in temp here.

It's my own fault I am now so used to having my house cold any normal temps to me when out and at people's homes seem to be tropical to me. Went out for a meal last night, it is chilly in the evening and I wore a short sleeved spit through blouse and light -weight trousers. while everyone else is wearing their jumpers! My friends here think I am really weird which I am

:scared:

I can't believe everyone's temperatures and heating bills!

We have a two story 1400 sq.ft. w/full basement (in NE Ohio) and keep the temperature around 68/70 all day and night. When it gets really cold we turn it up a bit to max. 75 last year.
We are on this thingy where you pay a set, average amount each month (I forgot the real word ) and it just was adjusted from $125 to $75 a month. This is for natural gas.

Also, I started working now so this year we'll be turning it down to 60/62 in the morning then back up to our normal 68/70 when we everyone gets home in the afternoon. And this is a non-isolated house we're talking about.... (although we're working on it, got the new windows in).
