Out where we use to live in Maine, it hardly got above 35F during the day...and the thermostat was crap, but we didn't have to pay for the oil there as they only had one furance, shite landlords....didn't help that to get 55-60F in the apartment, we had to have the thermostat all the way up at 90 *lol*

But season, I rather like spring, it's warm, but not to hot, and the bugs aren't really out yet..
$300 a month is scarey? I cheered this month because my electric bill was down to 250. It was 650 two months ago. Ouch! I like the cold weather because our heating runs on gas, and it's CHEAP compared to the summer months of aircon overkill.

I like the spring and fall in Texas, but I don't hate the weather here any time of year. My first year here, with no car, I nearly died in the summer months, but since we got wheels it's been no problem. It would take a lot now to get me to put up with English weather!

mine is about 62 naturally during the day as I don't have the heat on during the day just in the evening. You are lucky as you have a separate room (how do you do that, haven't seen anything but open plan homes here!) You do get used to it you're right and now I find anything 'normal' too hot!

Your heating system probably uses more (whatever it it uses) to bring your house back up to temp.

If ours was turned off everything would freeze.

I can't sit on a cold loo first thin in the morning. :scared:

No...I've tried both ways....turning off is a lot cheaper ....
And if you turn it off or right down...you get a few hours in the day when the place feels warm...like this morning the house was at 59...the heating came on for about 30 mins...its now 66 and will stay that temp all day....so I'll turn it down now to 59.....I cut my bill in half that way....
I thought it would be cheaper running it all the time so it never got cold...but you just feel cold all the time so you start to turn the temp up...
