Florida (Orlando)
Anyone know of any good US based web sites that advertise holiday lets rather than the UK ones that all go for British prices!
Help would be appreciated

For god's sake, Mitzy, just don't come back and post that you want to move there. Even I won't be able to protect you then!

Ha ha ... no ... I dont think so .. although over the years I have spent time there quite a lot on holiday. Right from the keys up to St Augustine and the West Coast resorts ....... To be honest I found it quite relaxing when I was working, but live there ..... I think it might send me crazy!

Everyone seems to have a 'dislike' if thats the right word? to this particular state?

As a holiday destination its fun, and strangely very relaxing. Loads to do, and not only the theme parks.
As I said before, not really sure if I could live there though as it just seems a little surreal

It's all true - it's a hell-hole. Who in their right mind would want to live in this God-foresaken place?
Admittedly it wasn't a vacation that brought me here, but some of you have a very jaundiced view of this place. It is not all mouse ears and sunburned chavs.
I travel extensively with work and when I'm away, I so look forward to getting home to the gorgeous lakes, oaks, watersports and friendly, relaxed environment. Not so much the cost of property insurance, threat of hurricanes and hoards of white-legged "Smashin's" - as in - "Cor, ain't this wevva smashin.", but there are pro's and cons in every place in my experience.
Traveling up to Indiana with work in the winter makes me really appreciate Central Florida. Why anyone would chose to live in the mid-west (worst of both worlds, weather-wise) I'll never understand.
