Post Florida Drivers Licence

Folks

I want to purchase a car in Florida for use in my holiday home. As I understand it the law has changed since Sep 11 01 and it is now very difficult for a non-resident alien to maintain a Florida Drivers Licence. If you do not have a current Florida Drivers Licence it is not possible to get insurance for a car.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Best, Peter.

I'm up in MA so the rules may differ... but I obtained car insurance on a UK licence when I first moved to the states without any difficulty.

You should probably contact a few insurers in Florida and ask.
As to the Florida license - check their DMV website - it will almost certainly answer the question.
