Actually, next to the weather, I would have to say that not having Irn Bru in the shops and not bumping into Glaswegians in the street (or having to climb over them in the gutter) are among the major pluses of living in California.

btw if any non-Scots reading this are wondering what the heck "Irn Bru" is, the best explanation that I can give is that it is the Scottish equivalent of "root beer" - ie a beverage so noxious that it can only be tolerated by people who have developed immunity through having been exposed to it since early childhood ...
