I tried that too, it didn't go down too well.. but they will insist on serving portions that would feed me for a week!

The problem with retired British folks in large numbers is they just take over wherever they are and turn it into a home counties village in the sun. Consider Cyprus, for instance. Paphos is a nightmare! Can't throw a stone without hitting some Man U pub full of old cockney geezers!
Mind you, George and Dragon can give me the boak when England are playing right enough
(quality English boozer in Seattle for the uninitiated).

If that last post sounded anti-English apologies. I love you all. Apart from your rugby team

Well as the OP stated that most people post the negatives and was asking for people to post the positives. I posted one of my positives.

My apologies. The answer I responded to only dealt with legal gun ownership. I did not see the other postings you mentioned. I take look later during the weekend.

Calm down, calm down.
I went to a gun range the other day and I have to say it was damn good fun. Each to their own, I suppose.

(Well, there's a lot of contenders for that. Sanctimonious Scots are right up there too!)

btw if any non-Scots reading this are wondering what the heck "Irn Bru" is, the best explanation that I can give is that it is the Scottish equivalent of "root beer" - ie a beverage so noxious that it can only be tolerated by people who have developed immunity through having been exposed to it since early childhood ...
