The thing is I don't think anyone know's, so long as amendments and proposals like banning gay marriage bring out the conservative base then I don't think Karl Rove cares.

It was an old, and dearly loved, Texan girlfriend of mine who told me that. I think she thought it was a good idea.

Bollocks.

We did not get married in church, and we are no less married than people who did.

Fair point - the point of the question is clear in all fairness - mobilize the zealots, and it appears to have worked....

Right now @ 2220hrs:

Dems have 4 Governership gains, 4 House gains (plus Lieberman) and 3 Senate gains.

Karl Rove must be changing his underpants.

Oh ffs - the liberal mist has descended and Elivra has gone apoplectic as per usual.
My point is that marriage has its roots in religion, rather like Christmas does. I did not mean that all marriages have to involve religion or religious people in this day and age, rather like many of our modern Christmas habits have no religious significance. However this does not change the fact that marriage is/was a religious concept.

So bollocks to you, you daft munter.

EDIT - oh look - munter number 2 has arrived. I have no idea what she has posted as I have her on ignore but I bet she now wishes she had waited for 5 minutes.

the dems need 2 out of 3 states out of MO, TN and VA

it looks like tn and va are staying red

It seems that the House is a done deal and the Senate is extremely marginal.

The VP has the casting vote. Who becomes Senate leader if Cheney has another heart attack ? With the stress of tonight he may already be having one.

This is your philosophy w/regard to gay marriage - that is understood.

The more important question is ........ Is this an issue you base your choice of candidates upon?

Poll Question - Is there a more consistently ignorant and stupid contributor to BE who manages to be sexist, right wing, anti-gay but not ballsy enough to stand up be counted on that, anti woman HRC and Cherie Blair come to mind.....and because he is a card carrying jingoistic Brit manages to remain popular with some otherwise very savvy woman...forget I asked
