Default Drivers license

I mailled all my papers, now can I have drivers license here in Houston? Social security? I don`t have any documents and I want to do something while I wait for some answers by BCSIS.
I am feeling so unusefull.

Thanks

Hi All!

What is your immigrant status? Need that to know if you are eligible for a
work authorized SSN. If Texas requires an SSN to get a driver's license and
not having an SSN is the only thing keeping you from being issued a driver's
license, you may be eligible for a nonwork authorized SSN.

You cannot obtain your first driver license without visiting an office
in person. I think this is true in every state

Default I already have my TX drivers licence while still waiting for my EAD

Yes, indeed you can apply for a drivers licence in houston without SSN. I just immigrated to Houston TX on V1 visa(just like k3) and I went to the local DPS office(7am-6pm, Mon-Fri) and applied for Texas ID and drivers license.
All you have to do is to fill in an affidavit that you do not have a SSN yet and you will be allowed to sit for the written exam as well as the road test.

I completed mine in about 2 weeks because I failed my first scheduled road test, but I passed and now have a texas drivers license while I continue to wait for my EAD from INS which I will use to apply for my SSN.

Hurray!
