Domestic help
Can anyone know if it is possible to get domestic help (nanny) from another country?
I am working and my wife is finishing her PhD so we need someone to watch kids in the
next 12 months. So the nature of the job is temporary.
Thanks for any help

Why not hire a nanny who lives in the US?

There's the J-1 au pair program. Here is the State Department site on the J-1 au
pair program:
http://exchanges.state.gov/jvisa/Au%...ram/aupair.htm
Here are websites for 4 of the 6 approved agencies:

in America http://www.euraupair.com/Page1.htm Euraupair

An au pair is only supposed to work 40 hours per week in an assistance role. That
means that if you lump her with all the childcare and household duties, she probably
won't be sticking around for very long. Since it's illegal to confiscate their
passports, I suggest you hire an au pair AND hire a cleaning company to come and
clean your place once a week. Is there any reason in particular that you want "help"
from another country?
