Does Florida have much SOCCER!
Hi guys,
You don't know how hard it was for me to type SOCCER!!!
I shall be moving to FL come January 04 I reckon, and was wondering, do they have much amateur football there or not?
I shall be living Ft Lauderdale/Miami or Cape Canaveral area......
I would be prepared to play with the girlies whimper whimper
I just wanna hear them scream at me "dont hit the ball at my fanny!"
The one thing Id miss the most would be my sunday league football.
Also, is it possible to get loads of soccer in Florida on tv (esp Premier League), even if its Payperview etc?
Cheers me dears

Don't know about Miami area but I have yet to see anyone in Tampa playing football...real football!
As for the TV..I have seen some British games on this system we have..(satallite with a million channels)...and also there is quite a bit of football from Countries I have never heard of!
make sure you plan your matches in the mornings as in FL it rains most afternoons...UNSHINE state is what I have re named it!
I would play with you but I REFUSE to let you kick the ball at my fanny!

The MLS team in Tampa has folded, but there are plenty of rec leagues in which you can get a game. Usual sites are N. Dale Mabrey and Drew St in Clearwater

Plenty of footie on the telly if you have Fox Sports World on cable/satellite and footie highlights on BBC America sometimes. As for local games....the Miami Fusion went bye-bye last year which was a shame cos they played at the Ft Lauderdale stadium. You may want to try the local Brit pub who have a sunday league (over 30's I think - if you qualify!!!) in Ft Laud.
Good Luck
