Ive been looking at Cape Canaveral and perhaps Ft Lauderdale.

Hi Lee,

Personally, I would say Cape Canaveral is the safest - I live between there and Cocoa Beach and have been here since March last year (emmigrated on a fiance visa from the UK). I would put Ft. Lauderdale 2nd and then Miami. You can rent/buy property here for a reasonable price still. Ft. Lauderdale and Miami are much bigger so therefore you get a lot more trouble and things get a lot more expensive too. Check out this website www.cocoabeach.com

When do you emigrate? What line of work are you in?

Ray,

Cocoa and Cocoa Beach are entirely different, we've never had a problem with people from Cocoa - it appears that because they're inland they don't come to the beach. As I said we've never had a problem and we live oceanfront, but saying that I wouldn't go to Cocoa (never have a reason to anyway) apart from Cocoa Village which I love for the cafes etc.

Where do you live Ray?

Hi Ray,

So you're out on the West Coast somewhere, or pretty close right?

You should've been here last night - fireworks were excellent!!!!

Hello guys,

Thanks Ray and Fran for your input.

As for me, Im planning on going in early Jan 04.

I work as a dealer in a casino, so I shall be following the cruise ships and/or daily ships.

I know Miami, Ft Laud and then Cape Can in that order have the most ships, but my order preferance for living is the reverse of that.

Cheers
Lee

I live in North Ft Lauderdale and have always enjoyed it. Of course there are some very dodgy areas, usually west of I95 and downtown but you learn where they are and to avoid them. Miami is a dump!!!! OK if your first language is Spanish!!! Otherwise the further you go north of Palm Beach the cheaper and quieter its gets. Port St Lucie is nice and still affordable but generally most places outside the big cities are a good choice. I particularly like Naples on the west coast of Fl, it is beautiful there!

Best of Luck
