I have asked you twice to stop derailing serious threads. You choose to ignore me but instead post a 'smart' response. You do not seem to want to enter discussions...instead you repeatedly post questions or glib remarks. In short you appear to be trolling.

Take an enforced break...hopefully if you return you will do so as a valued member of this community and not a troll.

Does that mean you're the female equivalent of 'J' from the Men in Black?

dragon1954 is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: Difficult to make friends in America?

I think it depends where you live in America. I lived in NYC for 7 years and I had no problems fitting in. I suppose part of the reason is that NY is such a melting pot and people seem to be tolerant of people from other cultures/counties.

I have just spent 18 months in California. I had difficulties making friends with people and I felt like a fish out of water. Although people appeared laid back and friendly, it was really very superficial and image was very important. I left 6 months ago and do not miss California one little bit, despite in being a beautiful place physically.
