Curry anyone?
#1
Im in Missouri, near St Louis. Been living here 2 months now and im desperatly craving a curry!
All my hubby can come up with is curry from the local chinese, but I'm after a proper Indian curry like the ones back home!
Does anyone know of any either, good curry houses near the area, be it MO or IL., OR can recommend a good curry sauce from a supermarket?
Is there places that sell international foods so I can find some of my much loved favoutires from British supermarkets?
thanks for any help/tips!

There ia an Indian place in creve coeur on Olive Blvd. Quite good if you are craving Indian, it will definitely hit the spot.

There's been a few threads in the past for places where you can get the spices etc for cheap and make your own....pretty good stuff too....

We buy 'authentic' British curry kits from the UK from http://www.123curry.co.uk
I have not bought any for a while, but noticed they stopped free international shipping (it is now £4 regardless as to quantity bought). 3 kits including shipping costs £11.98 (about $20)
The 'kit' contains all the spices needed, and instruction guide, on how to make your own curry. To make it right they take some time. The end result on all the curries I made was just like the best Indian restaurant back in England. Each kit can make lots of servings - we use the spices in the crock pot too.
The last delivery we had was inspected, we presume, by customs - not surprising when you consider the package was 6 large bags of 'powder', which was probably tempting to the sniffer dogs

thinbrit that doesnt sound too bad even with the shipping fee the only thing is the time to make it and a good curry does (like you said) take time to make, im thinking more of curry sauces in jars which tastes good and doesnt take muh time. Will have a look at what Paulycarts suggested.
Im sorry!!!! I'll hang around more now honest! the thing is i gave away my (extremely nice and expensive gaming) computer to charity as i couldnt really afford to ship it over and it seemed like a good idea at the time as i got to meet the family who took it home. SO i havent really had a computer to use, my MIL has kindly lent me hers now though so i promise i'll be around more!
Im settling in ok, Ive come in handy as a babysitter for the MIL and so end up spending a lot of time in the swimming pool. Wedding was great (i will post a photo one day!), some of my family made it over for it.
oh and most importantly, my cat is enjoying himself here
needs good beer before his curry that might help!......
or make it worse :s

Can't wait to see a few of the wedding pics, nice, that some of your family made it over
Make sure you don't let yourself get taken for granted, just because you are there and available
