Credit cards
I am looking to find a UK credit card which will allow me to use a US billing address (but which I can pay by DD from a UK bank account). I have seen reference to the fact that some banks / card issuers are willing to allow this. Can anyone offer specific bank / card issuer names.

Both Lloyds TSB and MBNA allow me to have a UK cc with a US address, they send me statements by post. In the same vein both Lloyds TSB and HSBC banks correspond to my US address which makes me beleive that HSBC cc would also let you.
Egg unfortunatley doesn't allow you have a non UK address, which is pretty crappy as they are only a virtual bank any way (so what does it matter where you are).
MBNA America used my MBNA Europe credit to give me a credit card in the states, they did not ask for the Europe account to be closed either.
Good Luck

I can confirm that HSBC will allow an overseas address provided payment is made through a UK bank. Its been very very useful to me because of the problem with establishing USA credit. So much so, that i am not going to bother about it!

I've used First Direct for a few years now, and found them excellent. They provide excellent online facilities, with phone backup/ facilities with a seperate line for overseas callers, and UK credit cards sent to overseas addresses as long as they are settled in sterling.

I have Barclaycard and Capital One uk credit cards with US address.
When i spoke to Capital One over here with regards to switching to an American card, so i could build up some credit, they said they wouldnt consider me already having a Capital One card in my application !!

We also have a card with First Direct. They do provide excellent service and we have never had any problems with them.

Not that I'm aware of - thread was asking about UK cards that were willing to send bills to an overseas address, which FD are.
