we're new members of BJ's, there's one a couple miles away, if I can remember how you get there...and there's a Costco about 15 miles away in a bit of a shite town....can't see joining that one though as it's a bit of a weird drive apparently.

Re: Cost of Living
Cost of living? Well let's see...California state income tax vs Texas none? Well, it could partially be offset by the slightly higher sales tax, but I reckon on being around $400 better off a month. Fuel is generally cheaper (haven't been back recently enough to compare, so no ideas on that front). And property is much cheaper. I'm staying, 'nuff said.

Re: Cost of Living
I'm about 15miles north of ^ him
8-12 ears of corn - around $5 depending on quality... can get crap for $1
Lobster - generall LOTs and the quality is NOT good.
Cheese - Real cheddar comes it at around $15 for a single lb, we get ours from Wi, its cheaper, nicer, doesn't make me ill and is ACTUALLY cheese. (most CA "cheese" is actually scientifically classed as "reconstituted dairy product" with additives to make it taste like different cheeses)
Organic eggs - around $3
Silk Soy/Organic Milk - too much, we like man breasts
Car insurance - 2 cars comes it at around $1440 for us
Car registration, - $250 (we have an expedition)
Cable/Internet - $200 with ALL the extras, 8MB internet, free long distance + internation @ $0.07
Public Transport - the orange line is right outside my door... never had a reason to use it yet.
